Gilbert Stoner was an ex-con who served 15 years on bank robbery charges.
In the bank robbery 15 years earlier, Stoner killed a young woman. After his release, he happened to ride on a bus driven by the girl's father, Ben Gibbons. Gibbons recognized Stoner, and when Stoner shrugged off his daughter's death, a furious Gibbons strangled him to death and stabbed his corpse with a screwdriver.
